These are issues clinicians and patients attempting to treat MRSA should take note of, and keep in mind throughout the MRSA treatment courses. Note has to be made of the fact that MRSA is actually a breed of staph-causing bacteria which are distinguished from the rest by the other staphylococcus (staph-inducing) bacteria by the fact that MRSA are drug resistant. Staph, as most of us know, is an illness which normally starts with unique-looking pimples and boils on the skin which, if unchecked, inevitably ‘ripen’ and ‘burst’ into festering abscesses. And while ordinary staph infections can be challenging to treat, the challenges are compounded in MRSA-induced staph cases, seeing that we are looking at multidrug resistant infections in the latter case.</p>
<p>Still, through sheer tenacity, MRSA can be treated. But such MRSA treatment, wherever attempted, is likely to be hampered by:<br />
Poor clinical hygiene. Poor clinical hygiene (for instance, not washing hands thoroughly with disinfectants after doing physical examinations on patients in clinical settings) brings about the high probability of MRSA transmission. It is not coincidental that new MRSA infection cases tend to be higher in hospital and nursing home settings.</p>
<p>Poor clinical hygiene would amount to hampering MRSA treatment, seeing that we’d most probably end up in a situation where more patients end up being infected by MRSA, compared to those who actually get treated.
