Creating Unique Fall Centerpieces For Weddings

Posted on 04 March 2010

A fall wedding color scheme can be such fun to plan because of all the wonderful colors displayed everywhere. There are countless decorating choices for creating unique fall centerpieces for weddings. In sharp contrast to the pastel weddings of days gone by, modern brides are enjoying the freedom to use any colors they like in their weddings. Very seldom do we see weddings done in pale pink, mint green, or sky blue. Brides and wedding planners are using more bright and vibrant colors, often following seasonal color schemes.

Ideas for fall wedding centerpieces are limited only by the imagination of the bride, florist, or wedding planner. Some brides have a favorite flower which they will use in arrangements throughout the wedding and reception, even though it may not be in season. Others retain the services of a florist to design fall centerpieces for weddings of fresh cut fall flowers, for more formal affairs.

For less formal weddings, perhaps outside in the early fall, or those with a more country feel, unique ideas are even more plentiful. Beautiful arrangements can be designed using dried flowers which are so popular in fall decorating, in conglomeration with fresh fall flowers. In many areas of the world beautiful flowers and fauna grow wild, free for the gathering. These can be displayed in mismatched containers for a beautiful effect. Bows made from ribbon of matching or complimentary colors may be attached to each container.

There are many extraordinary things which can serve as vases for your fall centerpieces for weddings. Antique jars and bottles make wonderful vases, when adorned with the right bows or ribbons. Small pumpkins may be hollowed out and used as centerpieces, filled with fall flowers and ribbons. These have to be done no more than one day ahead in order to stay fresh. Dried gourds are also stunning when filled with fall flora and decorated with bows.
